Let’s talk podcasts

After listening to many podcasts for years, I finally got over myself and volunteered to be a guest on one of them. In theme with previous posts, I talked about how I stay productive. I struggle to listen to recording of myself (definitely an area I know I need to work on later this year), but if you are curious about my productivity, you can listen here:

Interestingly, one of the things I forgot to mention is that I listen to podcasts (or audiobooks) most of the time. Or maybe all the time (unless I’m in a meeting) on increased speed as I definitely have subscribed to too many to get through at normal speed. My podcast app kindly provides stats in case I want to know how many years of my life I’ve already spent listening to things:

So, do podcasts actually help me stay productive? I don’t know – maybe they distract me from work sometimes, but for as long as I can remember, I did my homework or studying with either the radio or TV on. Other people went to the library to study, I only used the library to pick up books and really struggled to get any work done there. I don’t see myself listening less any time soon.
